Creative Corner...Limelight Sketch Challenge

I saw this sketch for this weeks Limelight Challenge and thought it was super cute! So I decided to use it for a scrapbook layout. Little Bit loves to dance and sing along when we watch Madagascar...."I like to move it, move it!" Anytime she wants to watch this show, she asks for "the move its"....too cute! I found these cute dimensional animal stickers that went along with the animals from the movie perfectly! I paired those with some Dude Designs paper, AC Patchwork Thicker stickers and some elements from a retired SU Simply Scrappin Kit.

house warming...

So crocheting is another one of my crafty interests! My mom made some of these crocheted wash cloths for Christmas gifts and she gave me one! I love using it and think they dry out faster than a traditional wash cloth. I thought these would make great house warming gifts...so I made a couple for some friends who recently moved.
You will need some Sugar 'n Cream yarn. I buy mine at Michaels when it goes on sale for $1.00. I have also seen it at Walmart and JoAnns. To make the wash cloths, I chained about 25 and then double crocheted 10 rows to make a good sized square. {You can make them however you like...that's just what I did.}

Here is the card I made to go along with the gift. I was inspired by this card. I used a Kraft card base then used papers from the Basic Grey basics manila 6x6 pad for the house. I found the stamp set at Michaels in the dollar bin!

{Linked up to Saturday is Crafty Day! @ along for the ride}

owls, owls & {more owls!}

OK, so owls are starting to take over in Little Bit's room! I made this owl pillow awhile back. It now has a home on the top of her book shelf....along with a cute little ceramic owl container I found at Walmart during Easter. I also found this neat site where you can print some art for free. I printed this cute owl art and trimmed it down to fit in a 5x7 frame. The graduation owl on the 2nd shelf I found at Goodwill for less than $1!

This wall shelf was full of Cherished Teddies when the room was all bear decor. We have weeded out most of the bears but still like them...so they all aren't banned from the room...hehe!

I found the little glass owl at Pier One. The polka dot one I made! I just freehanded a pattern and used some Amy Butler fabric to whip him up. I cut the eyes and beak out of felt and added some buttons to the eyes. Here is a close up...

strawberry pickin'...

Little Bit and I got out in our garden today and picked some strawberries! She would find one, pick it and say..."Look mommy, here's a good one." Some of them weren't so good but it was just fun seeing her getting into it! We took a bowl full inside to wash them up and have a sample. Little Bit ended up eating at least half the bowl! I couldn't clean them fast enough!!! This was our first haul of the season and there were tons more that should be ready soon.

Creative Corner...Scrap Club

Easter was in April this year so that was the theme for Scrap Club. I used the large oval punch from Stampin' Up to punch out different "eggs" from various designer paper. I think they turned out pretty cute...and perfect for these pictures of Little Bit hunting and dying eggs!

If you are interested in joining Scrap Club, check out more info here.

Mail goodness...

Have you signed up for any product trial programs such as BzzAgent or SheSpeaks? If not...now is the time too! Just recently I have received some great FULL SIZE product samples in the mail!!!

From BzzAgent I got 2 Scrubbing Bubbles Extend-A-Clean refills and a power sprayer. A booklet of coupons was also included in the kit {$5 off the starter kit and $1 off the refills!}. This product is designed for occasional deep cleaning and is safe for use on most bathroom surfaces. I have seen this recently at Target retailing for around $8.99 for the starter kit and $3.99 for the refills. You just keep the sprayer and buy new refills. There is also a daily shower spray that works the same way. I am always looking for an easier way to clean the shower...so I am anxious to see this product in action!
The same day I received a package from SheSpeaks! This kit included a bottle of Hawaiian Tropic Sheer Touch Creme Lotion SPF 50, 3 sample packets of the Lotion and 5 coupons for $1 off any Hawaiian Tropic Sun Care product! I was needing to buy some sunscreen anyway...so this worked out perfectly! I am excited to try this product...It has been designed to protect and pamper skin, is water resistant, oil free and provides both UVA and UVB protection.
I have also gotten some Pantene samples from Meijer. I want to share some of the goodness with you so be on the lookout for a giveaway to kick off summer!

Creative Corner...Limelight Sketch Challenge

I got the idea for doing this flower while browsing through a Scrapbooks Etc. magazine at the library the other day. When I saw Limelight's sketch for this week, I knew I wanted to try this flower out. I decided to use the sketch for a scrapbook layout instead of a card, since I had these great pics from our recent trip to the botanical gardens. I just freehanded a flower petal on scratch paper to get the right size, then I used my template to cut petals from Basic Grey's Lemonade paper pad. A punched circle and some buttons finish off the flower!

Hair Bow Organization!

FINALLY...some organization to the hair accessory chaos! It took me a while to figure out how I wanted to store hair accessories in Little Bit's room. For the longest time I just kept bows and clips on the original package and thrown in a basket. Now that we are redecorating her room, I decided to finally come up with a plan. So here is what I did...
These are quilt clips that I bought at Babies R Us about 3 years ago. I used them to hang the baby quilt my Grandma made for Little Bit. It was a wonderful quilt with bears on it! Now that we are switching up the decor, I took down the quilt and decided to repurpose the clips!

I just cut some brown grosgrain ribbon the length I wanted, tied a not in the end {so it would hang nicely} and glued the ribbon under the bottom 2 star corners. Then I clipped all her alligator clip bows onto the ribbon, organized by color of course!Other hair accessories are contained in the basket {headbands and pony tail holders} and in the yellow ramekin {clips}.
