hair raising {goodys}...

GIVEAWAY EXTENDED THROUGH MONDAY!!!
Look at all these {goodys} I received in the mail courtesy of Meijer and Goody! I was amazed at how much stuff was in this box! I just kept uncovering more and more goodness! ;)

Look at all of this!!! I can't wait to try out some new hairstyles with these items.

Out of everything in the box, these were what I was most excited about for me! Who doesn't love a great brush....this one has a nice cushy handle and says it is supposed to help alleviate static. I definitely need this for Little Bit!

I love headbands but they usually hurt my head....well the no slip elastic ones from Goody work great! They stay in place and don't have to worry about the headaches!

I also can't have enough elastic hair bands. These neutrals with the pink thrown in are great staples. But I was excited to try the double wear elastic bands. They have a band of metal on them...so they look cute on your wrist, but also work great to pull back your hair. I love having the jazzed up hair band on my arm, I almost forget its not a bracelet! I have used these almost everyday since receiving them!

These items I was most excited about for Little Bit. Now that is it spring, the weather is warmer and we have lots of wind....so we put out hair back most days. Little Bit loves pig tails and these smaller elastic bands work great for her. I love the variety of color too! Think we have used all most every color so far.

The flower clips are super cute too. The clips aren't quite big enough to keep much of Little Bit's hair back {that girl has some thick hair!}...but they work great as an accent when she has a pony or pig tails in!

NOW...how would you like to have some {goodys} of your own?!!!!! I have an assortment of headbands up for grabs along with a package of basic black ouchless elastic bands.

Just leave me a comment letting me know what your favorite hair accessory is! If you want an additional entry, start following my blog and leave me a comment saying that you are. If you are already a follower, leave me a comment saying that...and thanks! ;) I will draw a winner on Thursday, April 5th!...EXTENDED THROUGH MONDAY!!!

Thanks again to Meijer and Goody for this opportunity to try out some new products.

project {life}... week 7

I am still behind....ugh! My cold lingered on longer than I hoped it would, then we were out of town...I know excuses, excuses but I am trying to catch up. I am proclaiming this weekend to be....scrapbook it up weekend! ;)

This layout has been done for a little while, I just kept forgetting to take a pic until night and I really like the daylight shots better so I waited, then forgot again and so on....oops.

This was Valentines week! Little Bit and I also went on a girls weekend with my mom and sister.

The hubs and I got a little dessert date while Little Bit was at preschool. On Valentines Day Little Bit and I had a starbucks snack after bible study and then picked up a lego set for her! She immediately came home and worked on putting it together!

I {loved} making the {love} tag! I saw them here on TwoPeas and was inspired to try making my own.

At the end of the week we headed out on our girls weekend with my mom and sister. We went to my grandparents, shopped and had some yummy eats. Little Bit loves her auntie and they had some fun times.

I included an insert to hold some of the Valentines that Little Bit received from school buddies and a few other friends. I also included the Valentine that she made for her school exchange.

And now I'm off to catch up on the last few weeks! It is National Craft Month after all....so what better time to get craftin', right?!

lego organizing...

Little Bit has loved playing with mega bloks and duplos. Those are both fairly large and pretty easy to store. We recently branched into legos, once she saw the new girl building sets that were available! She got some money for Valentines Day from family so she used that to get her first set.

Legos are teeny tiny so I knew we needed a storage system just for these little guys!

So I picked up one of these divided storage containers. It comes with little plastic dividers you can slide into the grooves to make smaller compartments but for now leaving the 5 areas open works. The bigger compartment on the right is just great for the instruction books and the little dolls, while all the legos {for now!} fit on the left.

{These containers are really great for crafting too! I have used them for storing buttons, brads, eyelets and embroidery floss!}

Here is Little Bit playing with her set. She loves making the desks, lemonade stands, etc...but her favorite part is really the little girls that come with each set!

Do you have any great ideas for storing your kids legos?

{paper} polly...

We recently checked out Polly's Pink Pajamas by Vivian French from our local library. I just love when you can judge a book by it's cover...this one looked cute and the story turned out to be too!
It is about a little girl who loves her pink pajamas so much that she wears them all the time. But when she gets invited to a friends party she realizes she doesn't have any party clothes to wear. She goes around to several different friends borrowing articles of clothing, trying to find an outfit for the party. Everything she gets is either too big or too small and so she is sad....until she finds out the party is actually a pajama party!

Little Bit loved the story! So we decided to make an activity out of it....who doesn't love paper dolls?! ;)

I found a printable paper doll template and got to cutting! We tried to match the clothes in the book as best as possible. Here is Polly all decked out in her borrowed clothes.

Here she is in her pink pajamas! ;)

Little Bit had fun coloring the face on Polly and helping pick out the papers for her clothes. She is loving dressing her up!

we have a {hole}!

I mentioned back in September that we had bought land and were preparing to build a house. Well work has begun! They started last week and we already have basement walls! It moves so quickly. We are in the thick of picking out every last detail and there are just too many choices!...but it really is fun! ;)

We stopped by the lot as a family on the way to dinner one night to see it all marked off. Little Bit had a blast running around the wide open space. She is standing where her future room will be!
Little Bit and I stopped by while they were digging out the basement and she got a kick out of watching the big machine work!

And here is our hole! It really amazes me at how nice and smooth it all is. This week the basement walls were poured and framing will begin in the next week or two!

If you have any advice from building your own house...I'm open to hear it! ;)

project {life}... week 6

I am behind! But since I started a few weeks late it is to be expected. I have been sick for the past week and haven't had much energy to craft...or do much else for that matter. I'm hoping next week I'm back to normal and can catch up a bit.

We didn't have a whole lot going on this week...not too many pics but there was still fun going on!

Little Bit got into legos this week and we had a great time putting together a transformer set!

She also worked very hard on putting her valentines together for the kids in her preschool class.

{butterfly} art...

I was in the mood to decorate for spring and wanted something new to add to the mix. So I created another easy punched art piece. I love making punch art that can be framed and put on display as part of my decor. Here is a heart one and pumpkin one I have previously made.

I started with a Martha Stewart butterfly punch and some fun springy papers from Cosmo Cricket, October Afternoon and The Girls' Paperie.

I put glue dots in the centers of the butterflies and folded the wings up some to get a 3D effect. I mounted them all on kraft cardstock and put them in a frame without the glass.

I just love how it turned out!!!

card making {on the go}!

My friend Jamie inspired me to try on the go card making! You precut materials for a card you would like to make and then put all the supplies in a container and throw it in your purse. Then anytime you are waiting somewhere...doctors office, picking up child, library, sports practice...you can create a quick card!

I used a Stampin Up wood mount stamp container {clam shell case}. I included all my precut materials for the card, markers for coloring images, adhesive and scissors. {Jamie included stamps in her box but I just went ahead and prestamped my images so I wouldn't have to worry about cleaning my stamps. But at some point I might pack stamps and then I would throw in some baby wipes to clean them with.}

Here is a closer look at my precut supplies. I had room in my case for supplies for 2 cards, with enough paper to make 6 of each design!

The first one was a masculine card. I picked out this cute little truck stamp to use and then paired that with some orange, green and blue paper. I didn't have a sentiment stamp that I liked for this, so I just hand wrote "a special delivery..."

This one is my favorite! I have had this hot air balloon stamp that I got at Michaels for $1 for a while and thought this was the perfect time to ink it up! I had everything precut and stamped for this card except the paper ribbon tabs at the bottom. I just threw in some scrap paper and cut what I needed as I put the card together. I was inspired by this first card by Dawn McVey!

I had fun putting my on the got kit together. I ended up using it while I was out of town visiting family. Little Bit, my sister and I all enjoyed some crafty time together!
