ready for summer....{duck tape bag}

It was a lazy Saturday afternoon and Little Bit was bored!  She had watched a few YouTube videos on making things with Duct Tape and wanted to try something of her own.  We decided on a small bag/purse.  I found this tutorial on Pinterest and we got started!
These are the only colors of tape that we had on hand so that's what we went with.  It was super easy to make and she loves how it turned out!  So much so that we have made a few other things since...some of her own creations even...LOL!  {lipstick, tissues, keyfob and wallet}

Instead of a garbage bag for the inside, we used a gallon ziplock bag.  I just cut across the top to remove the zipper part and then cut down the sides to have a long rectangular piece to work with.
She LOVES it!

I can see more Duct Tape projects in our future.  These would be great to do this summer when the kids are out of school.  Little Bit still has 2 more days of school until her summer official starts, but we have already started making a list of project ideas!  Check out my Kiddos board on Pinterest to see what we might be up too!

STRETCH!

I have recently started doing some yoga stretches to help relieve my sciatic nerve pain.  Little Bit has been interested in doing some moves along with me.  She is way more flexible than me, LOL!  I came across these animal poses that Disney put out to go along with the release of the new Tinker Bell and the Neverbeast DVD.

The idea is to get into the pose, have the child make the animal sound and continue through each pose.  Then have them make up a new animal pose!  I think my preschoolers would enjoy these as well....must store idea in the brain for next school year.  ;)
If you are finding yoga stretches beneficial for you, check out Five Below for $5 yoga mats!  I bought one for me to use and now Little Bit wants one of her own.  ;)

new wall art!

I saw this printable on Charlie Fox Paper Co. and thought it was great.  So I saved the file to my computer and got to makin'!  She has it available in pink, blue or black.  I chose the black and then printed it on patterned paper.  I chose a blue hexagon pattern from Basic Grey's line Fact.  Then I trimmed it down to 8.5x11.

I opened Word and inserted the image I had saved to my computer.  Then I loaded the paper in my computer and hit print!

I used washi tape to hang it on the wall above my IKEA cart.

makers gonna make...
