Creative Corner...Limelight Sketch Challenge

I saw this sketch for this weeks Limelight Challenge and thought it was super cute! So I decided to use it for a scrapbook layout. Little Bit loves to dance and sing along when we watch Madagascar...."I like to move it, move it!" Anytime she wants to watch this show, she asks for "the move its"....too cute! I found these cute dimensional animal stickers that went along with the animals from the movie perfectly! I paired those with some Dude Designs paper, AC Patchwork Thicker stickers and some elements from a retired SU Simply Scrappin Kit.

house warming...

So crocheting is another one of my crafty interests! My mom made some of these crocheted wash cloths for Christmas gifts and she gave me one! I love using it and think they dry out faster than a traditional wash cloth. I thought these would make great house warming gifts...so I made a couple for some friends who recently moved.
You will need some Sugar 'n Cream yarn. I buy mine at Michaels when it goes on sale for $1.00. I have also seen it at Walmart and JoAnns. To make the wash cloths, I chained about 25 and then double crocheted 10 rows to make a good sized square. {You can make them however you like...that's just what I did.}

Here is the card I made to go along with the gift. I was inspired by this card. I used a Kraft card base then used papers from the Basic Grey basics manila 6x6 pad for the house. I found the stamp set at Michaels in the dollar bin!

{Linked up to Saturday is Crafty Day! @ along for the ride}

owls, owls & {more owls!}

OK, so owls are starting to take over in Little Bit's room! I made this owl pillow awhile back. It now has a home on the top of her book shelf....along with a cute little ceramic owl container I found at Walmart during Easter. I also found this neat site where you can print some art for free. I printed this cute owl art and trimmed it down to fit in a 5x7 frame. The graduation owl on the 2nd shelf I found at Goodwill for less than $1!

This wall shelf was full of Cherished Teddies when the room was all bear decor. We have weeded out most of the bears but still like them...so they all aren't banned from the room...hehe!

I found the little glass owl at Pier One. The polka dot one I made! I just freehanded a pattern and used some Amy Butler fabric to whip him up. I cut the eyes and beak out of felt and added some buttons to the eyes. Here is a close up...
