fall and {fashion}...

So Sunday afternoon we went out in the backyard to enjoy the beautiful day. We raked up a big pile of leaves and had fun running, jumping, falling in them and just plain being silly! I grabbed the camera and snapped a few pics, then the hubs took it and captured a bunch more.

I love the outfit I was wearing and so he took a few pics of me. I have been an avid follower of Lindsey's What I Wore Wednesday feature on her blog The Pleated Poppy. She started it as a challenge to herself to get dressed and out of her pj's each day. Taking a picture to document was her accountability. Lots of wonderful ladies link up with her each week. I love browsing through every Wednesday to get some fashion inspiration for my own wardrobe! So I thought I would finally link up at least once...with a few cute Little Bit pictures thrown in!

I saw this red leaf just laying there among the brown ones and thought it deserved to be photographed! Also got my cute mustard flats in the shot {from Target}!

Here is our big pile of leaves. Little Bit would throw a bunch of leaves in the air and yell "FALL"!

Throwing her in the pile! ;)

Running to jump in the pile!

And here's the whole outfit...mustard cardigan {Kmart}, ruffly top and mustard flats {Target}, jeans and belt {thrifted}, bangle bracelets {Forever 21}

Where do you get your fashion inspiration?

happy bithday to the hubs....

Well, technically his birthday is almost over but I just wanted to wish my dear hubby one more happy birthday before the day ends!

Here he is with Little Bit, opening his presents this evening. We celebrated with his favorite dinner....meatloaf, mashed potatoes, green beans and garlic bread! Then we had pumpkin dump cake for dessert...yum...while watching the movie Rio.

Wishing you many more happy bdays to come....love you!

{foto} friday...

I'm linking up with Jeannette again over at Life Rearranged for her InstaFriday feature. Here is my {retro} week...

As you saw from my previous post about Halloween, Little Bit got quite the use out of her costume...and she loved every minute of it! Here is a quick one I snapped of her while we were trick or treating at the mall on Monday night.

At our house Jenga blocks are used for everything besides actually playing the game. This week we built a bridge, a fence and this tower.

I found this recipe several weeks ago and decided to try my hand at making one. I just used instant coffee and chocolate syrup instead of the cocoa powder {because that's what I had}. I have never been a fan of paying like $5 or $6 a bottle for coffee syrups so I was excited to find some at the Dollar Tree recently....score! So I picked up some caramel to use just for this drink! It turned out pretty yummo if I do say so myself!

scarecrow crunch...

I made up a batch of this {scarecrow crunch} to give to Little Bit's teacher and the children's librarians as a little Halloween/Fall treat.

I have seen several variations of this all over blogland. I just used what I had on hand and thought sounded good together!

Ingredients:

2 cups candy corn
2 cups almonds
2 cups honey nut chex cereal
1 cup m&ms
1 cup coconut

Directions:
Mix together and present in a cute container! ;) Of course you can add more or less of whatever ingredient is your favorite.

Doesn't that just look yummo! This would be great sitting out at Thanksgiving to munch on while you are waiting for dinner....or afterwards as a dessert....or how about put some in a baggie to have as a snack while you are Black Friday shopping!!!

For the container, I used the almond container {from Target}. I cut a circle out of cute fallish designer paper and stuck it to the top of the lid. Then I wrapped a scalloped border around the middle of the container and added a tag to label what was inside. {All papers were from Sassafras Bungle Jungle paper pad.}

Enjoy!
