smells so {gud}...

I was recently contacted by Meijer to see if I was interested in trying some new products from gud.  Of course I said YES!  I am always up for trying something new...and getting things for free!  ;)

From the makers of Burt's Bees comes gud, a novel and extrasensory approach to natural beauty created for the of-the-moment woman. Just like Burt's Bees products, gud products contain no parabens, no phthalates, no petrochemicals and are never tested on animals.

I received three different products in three different scents.

First off was the Floral Cherrynova body mist.  I am not a huge fan of strong perfumes, so I usually just use a light body mist.  This scent was light and floral and I could definitely see myself wearing this!

Next I tried the body wash in Vanilla Flame.  I love this body wash itself but wasn't a fan of the scent.  I'm not a huge fan of vanilla scent unless it is in a candle....not sure why but just don't like it on me for some reason.  Plus it has a little bit of that burning candle smell.  But for the body wash itself, I would definitely try it again in a different scent.  It was nice and creamy and lathered up really well!

Finally for the Orange Petalooza body lotion.  This was my favorite one of the three.  I love the scent and the creaminess of the lotion.  My skin felt super soft and smelled so yummy after applying it!  I would definitely buy this one for myself!

Besides these three products they also have shampoo, conditioner, body butter, hand wash and hand cream.

If you are interested in trying these products...check them out at your local Meijer store.  For a limited time you can get a mPerks offer....$1.00 off any gud product.  Just sign in, clip online and redeem in store!  Also, "like" gud on facebook and get another $1.00 off coupon to pair with the Meijer one!

less than {3 weeks}...

That's how long until we have to say goodbye to our current home.  We are moving all of our furniture in 2 WEEKS!  I can't believe that it is already time.  This process has happened so quickly.  We have been very fortunate to have a great crew and wonderful weather to move things along so well.   So needless to say, with less than 3 weeks til we have to be out of here, our house is looking like this these days...

Shelves and closets are slowly starting to be emptied and boxes are accumulating everywhere!

But on the bright side...

Our new home is starting to look like home!  Our tile flooring has been laid, cabinets are in!!!, lights are being installed, doors, trim and hardwood go in this week, countertops and appliances come in another week!!!

Just love how the cabinets turned out!

Even though we will miss our current home, we are so looking forward to settling in to the new place and making lots of wonderful memories there.  {In between the packing, swim lessons, bible schools and just life in general...I'll try and post some more progress updates for ya!} ;)

altered {clipboard}

My family was just up over the weekend and my mom was telling me about these altered clipboards that she saw and thought would be fun to make.  So I broke out the scrapbook paper and mod podge and we got to work!  I already had a clipboard on hand and my mom picked one up fairly cheap at Dollar General.

Since I am starting a teaching job at a local preschool this fall, I thought it would be neat to make a schoolish one for me!  I started with the book print paper, laid it under the clipboard and traced around the edge.  I cut on the inside of my lines and still had to trim it slightly to fit.  Then I just used some scraps I had to add layers to it.  The faux polaroid is cut from a larger sheet of paper.  I used stickers to put my name on it.  Then used some washi tape to accent.  I finished it off with the 2 stamped owls...kid and teacher ;)
A coat of mod podge under and over everything completed the project!  I wish I would have gotten a pic of my mom's before she left, cause it turned out super cute too!
