Burt's Bees {review} & GIVEAWAY!

Once again I have more great products to share with you courtesy of Meijer and Burt's Bees!

"On average, a woman can ingest up to nine pounds of lip product in her lifetime.  So for me, it's a must to choose one that's all-natural.  Burt's Bees now has a great selection of lip color products - all which care for your lips, feel great to wear, and have natural, delicate aromas - I just love them!"  Katey Denno, Celebrity Make-Up Artist

When I read that I was like wow...I put something on my lips everyday and multiple times a day.  I never thought about what was in the products or that I was ingesting them!  But really, how often do you find yourself licking your lips, drinking, eating, etc, all which bring the lip products into our system!  So I was super excited to try out these all-natural products from Burt's Bees!

Look at all these wonderful colors and varieties there are to choose from!  There is tinted lip balm, lip shine, lip gloss and lip shimmer.  My favorites at the tinted balm and the lip gloss!

I was sent the color Sweet Violet tinted balm and I love it!  It feels so nice going on and gives my lips a nice color, without being too overpowering.  I love the way my lips feel moisturized!

I think the gloss and shine products are similar in my opinion, just different types of applications and color choices.  I liked the Blush color in the lip shine.

My favorite lip gloss color is Sunny Day.  It is a great neutral color to wear on it's own....like I am doing here.  I couldn't get a great picture but it is totally natural with a nice glossy glow!  But I also love wearing it over the lip shimmer.

I tried the Rhubarb lip shimmer.  It has a nice mint scent that I loved but the color was a little too much for me.  I am a more natural girl.  However, once I applied the Sunny Day lip gloss over the top of the Rhubarb it totally toned it down and I was good to go for the day.

Some 4x4 cards were also included with my lip products.  They included helpful beauty tips, like which colors to try depending on your complexion and layering ideas of which products work well together.

Who would love some of these great Burt's Bees lip color products to try out for themselves?!!!!  Well then, lets have a little giveaway shall we....

make room for something new...

I was so excited to receive this box of goodies from Meijer featuring new products from Campbells & Pepperidge Farms.   Included was a Meijer reusable tote, Campbell's Skillet Sauce, Campbell's Go Soup Pouch, Campbell's Gourmet Bisque, V8 V-Fusion Kids Juice, and Pepperidge Farm Jingos!

The first thing I wanted to try was the Skillet Sauce.  The one I received was for Scampi.  I just love shrimp scampi, so I was super excited about this product.   It was very easy to make.  You just heat some oil in a skillet and cook your shrimp, then add the sauce packet.  I made some angel hair pasta to serve with it.  My husband and I enjoyed the meal but weren't blown away by it.  I won't be adding this recipe to our favorites list but it is something I will keep on the back burner if I see a good shrimp deal and am in the mood for scampi!

Little Bit was anxious to try the juice, which she loved!  I took a little sip and it was very tasty.  She even asked for another one the next day.  Guess I will add these to my shopping list. ;)

We also tried the Jingos crackers.  The whole family loved them.  We had the fiesta cheddar flavor and they were yummo!  I think we ate 3/4 the box in one sitting. ;)  I even found a printable coupon for $1.00 off to use on our next box!  I plan on adding these to our shopping list too!

Don't forget to sign up at mperks.meijer.com to start saving on your upcoming shopping trips with digital coupons!

Thanks again to Meijer for this opportunity!  The opinions were all mine.

smells so {gud}...

I was recently contacted by Meijer to see if I was interested in trying some new products from gud.  Of course I said YES!  I am always up for trying something new...and getting things for free!  ;)

From the makers of Burt's Bees comes gud, a novel and extrasensory approach to natural beauty created for the of-the-moment woman. Just like Burt's Bees products, gud products contain no parabens, no phthalates, no petrochemicals and are never tested on animals.

I received three different products in three different scents.

First off was the Floral Cherrynova body mist.  I am not a huge fan of strong perfumes, so I usually just use a light body mist.  This scent was light and floral and I could definitely see myself wearing this!

Next I tried the body wash in Vanilla Flame.  I love this body wash itself but wasn't a fan of the scent.  I'm not a huge fan of vanilla scent unless it is in a candle....not sure why but just don't like it on me for some reason.  Plus it has a little bit of that burning candle smell.  But for the body wash itself, I would definitely try it again in a different scent.  It was nice and creamy and lathered up really well!

Finally for the Orange Petalooza body lotion.  This was my favorite one of the three.  I love the scent and the creaminess of the lotion.  My skin felt super soft and smelled so yummy after applying it!  I would definitely buy this one for myself!

Besides these three products they also have shampoo, conditioner, body butter, hand wash and hand cream.

If you are interested in trying these products...check them out at your local Meijer store.  For a limited time you can get a mPerks offer....$1.00 off any gud product.  Just sign in, clip online and redeem in store!  Also, "like" gud on facebook and get another $1.00 off coupon to pair with the Meijer one!

free chocolate!!!

Have you shopped Walgreens yet this week? There wasn't much that caught my eye until I saw free chocolate....who can pass that up, right?! ;) I also decided to do the Carefree deal since they were free...and I ended up getting overage on those, which made my out of pocket really low this week. I bought 3 panty liners, 2 chocolate bars, 2 packages Goldfish and 2 packs of pencils....my total was $2.34. I had a $1.00 register reward from last week that I was able to use bringing my out of pocket to only $1.34!!! Not too shabby!

Carefree – $0.99 with in-ad coupon
(limit of 3)
Plus use $3/2 Walgreens printable {I bought 3 and used the coupon...it actually took off 4.50!...so 1.50 off per item. This made them free plus overage!!! Hand the cashier the printable coupon first and then have them scan the in ad coupon just to be safe.}
Free plus overage after coupons

Buy 2 Milka Chocolate Bars at $1.50 each

Use 2 $1/1 Milka Chocolate Confections printable coupons

here comes the sun{screen}...

Summer is right around the corner and we are already starting to spend more time outside at the park, backyard, etc... Plus our local waterpark opens this weekend!...and we have season passes! Needless to say we are going to be needing the sunscreen! So I have been watching for coupons and good deals so I can stay stocked up.

Well this week at CVS if you buy 2 Neutrogena sunscreen products you will get $10 extra care bucks back! I bought the spray kind which was 10.99 each. I used 2 of these $2.00 off coupons. Plus if you scan your CVS card when you get to the store you might be lucky enough to get a $3 off your $10 purchase...which helped lower my out of pocket even more! So after all coupons and ECBs the sunscreen was $2.49 each. If you have ECBs from previous transactions you will pay even less!

So now that I am getting a good stash of sunscreen I needed a way to organize it. So off to Goodwill I went. I found this pink caddy for 50 cents! They have the same ones at Target right now for $2.50...score!

Now I have all of our water/sun gear nicely organized and labeled in the top of our coat closet. I just used round tags, wrote on them {water toys, sunscreen, beach towels} and used some twine to tie them on the containers.

At the bottom of the closet I have our water park bag. I can easily fill it with whatever we need from the nicely labeled bins above and we are good to go!

Nutella....YUM!

I was just talking about Nutella with some gals yesterday and today I stubbled across a coupon {which are few and far between!} for $1.00 off. This chocolate hazelnut spread has become a staple in our pantry. I first had the tasty treat on a crepe with strawberries and bananas. Let me just say...YUMMO! We mostly use it as a dip with animal crackers, almonds, marshmallows, and fruit. I put apples on Little Bit's plate the other day and she took one bite. As soon as I added a little Nutella she gobbled them all up! If you haven't tried Nutella yet...grab this coupon and run to the store...you don't want to miss out any longer! :)

Toy Story 1 & 2 DEAL...

I saw this on Slickdeals.net and just had to share! Toy Story 1 & 2 were just re-released yesterday and Toys R Us has a great deal running through Saturday. If you buy both Toy Story 1 & 2 Blu-ray/DVD combo packs they are only 16.99 each. Pair that with a $10 coupon for Toy Story and a $10 coupon for Toy Story 2, the cost comes down to $6.99 each for a grand total of $13.98 {mine came to $16.70 with tax}!

In addition to getting the movies for a deal, each one comes with a coupon code to get a free movie ticket for Toy Story 3 coming out in June! {With movie tickets ranging anywhere from $6-$10...you can't go wrong with this deal!}

Huggies printable coupons...

WOW! You can print $3.00 off 1 Huggies diaper coupons from THREE different sources right now...hurry before they are gone!

Pair these coupons with the $1.50 Huggies coupons available from Target.com to save even more. My local Target has Huggies Jumbo packs regularly priced at $8.99! So with coupons I would only pay $4.49 per pack for name brand diapers!!!

Coupon Commotion...

I stopped in JoAnns today to see what goodies I could find since this is their coupon commotion week! This means if it isn't on sale there is probably a coupon you can use on it...and you can use more than one coupon in a single transaction! Here are several coupons you can print, plus there is usually an ad right as you walk in the door that has more coupons!

One great find I came home with is a 7 spool pack of Gutermann sew-all thread. Each spool contains 110 yds of thread. The colors are black, white, cream, grey, navy, red and tan. It was $6.49 and I was able to use a 50% off coupon for it, so $3.25 for 7 spools of thread {about $.46 a spool!}.

Deals of the Day...CVS

I had ECBs (Extra Care Bucks) expiring this week so I headed in to CVS to see how best to "roll them over". I bought 1 of each of the following, plus a big ball for .17 cents (summer clearance items 75% OFF):

Buy 1 L’Oreal Age Perfect, Revitalift or Skin Genesis at $5.99, Get $5.99 ECBs

Buy 1 Revlon Nail Color at $3.99 (Sun & Mon only), Get $3 ECBs

Buy 1 Right Guard Sport, Xtreme, Soft & Dri or Dry Idea: $2.99, get $2 ECBs

I used a $1 L'Oreal coupon, $1 Right Guard coupon and $2/$10 CVS coupon*. I paid with $8.79 in ECBs and .42 cents on a giftcard...got back $10.99 ECBs! If I would have had a Revlon coup, I could have saved even more!

For more CVS deals this week go here.

*The $2/$10 is from this issue of Richmond Parents magazine....coupon is on page 30.
