My first Stitch Fix...

I have been wanting to try Stitch Fix for a while but I am the kind of person that has to try on everything and likes to pick out my own things.  But I was still intrigued by the idea of having a stylist and letting someone else pick out clothes for me.  So when I was gifted a Stitch Fix credit I thought that was a perfect time to give it a try!

You go online and fill out a style survey with your sizes, likes/dislikes, items you may be looking for, etc.  Then you schedule how often you'd like to receive boxes.  Each box comes with 5 items for you to try on and review.  If you don't like any of the items you can return them in a prepaid envelope that comes in your box.

There is a $20 styling fee you will pay if you don't keep any items.  If you choose one or more to keep, then the fee is waived.  If you sign up through my link we will both get a $25 credit when you check out with your first fix!

I received some great pieces but sometimes it takes a few boxes for your stylist to learn your style and sizes better.  Take a peek at my items and what I ended up with...

My first item was a pair of jeans.  These are elastic waist skinny jeans by Liverpool.  They fit pretty good but not sure I love the elastic waist.  Plus they were a little long.  I usually need short or ankle length.  $78....Returned

I also received this blouse by Brina & Em called the Lemmy V-Neck.  The top was cute but a little snug.  When I'm teaching and moving around with my preschoolers I need something more comfortable.  $39...Returned

This next piece was my favorite right out of the box!  The elbow patches were super cute and a unique touch to the black and white stripe cardigan by Market & Spruce.  But it was little more than I wanted to pay, plus the sleeves were a bit snugger than I'd like.  $64...Returned

I also received a Daniel Rain scoop neck top (not pictured) in an eggplant color but the fit and style were not for me.  $58...Returned

This last one was a keeper!  The fabric was so soft and the perfect neutral.  It is a cowl neck brushed knit top by Cupio Blush.  I love that I can dress it up with jeans and flats or booties like the above photo.  But also pair it with leggings and sneaks for a more casual look below!  $44...Keep

I also threw on my black puffer vest and love this look even more!  This is a great piece with versatility and I'm happy to add it to my wardrobe!

Overall I enjoyed this experience with Stitch Fix!  I still love shopping for myself but think it's fun to get goodies hand picked for you and shipped right to your door!  The pieces are a little more than I like to pay, but if you want to treat yourself, want quality items and especially don't like shopping then I think you should definitely give Stitch Fix a try!

{on my nails}

I picked this nail polish up for free at Wal-mart last weekend.  It was only .93 and I had a coupon for $1.00 off a wet 'n wild product.  I would have never guessed it would have lasted as long as it did on my nails.

This is day 3 and I have minimal tip damage...

I have a hard time keeping polish on my nails.  The last few times I have painted them I've used a base coat.  I think I was just too lazy to add this step before but this really helps extend the life of a manicure!

Here is what I used...

Cutex Basework, wet 'n wild Wild Shine nail color in red, Sally Hansen Diamond Shine top coat

I think I ended up getting 5 days wear before it was chipping and I had to remove it!

{what i wore} rain boots

To say we have had a little snow and cold weather would not quite be an accurate account of these past 2 months.  Well this week the temps are rising and things are melting...which means it's a mess out there.  So what better way to stomp about than in my cute plaid rain boots!

It's supposed to rain on top of all the melting...so guess what I'll be wearing yet again this week!  I've been strolling through Pinterest for some cute outfit inspiration and this is what's jumping out at me...
Complete Fall Outfit but would swap my brown riding boots for her rubber ones. "Rain Boots Contest" by kginger on Polyvore. So cute but prob would replace boots with pumps or flats in same color

I think I might be liking stripes a bit!  Both look stylish but still very comfy.

Outfits with Riding Boots | ... comfy day outfit - probably riding boots instead of rain boots for me

Another super comfy look...leggings, long & flowy shirt with a fun colorful scarf!

Cute Winter Outfit- Polka Dot Blouse, Pink Puffer Down Jacket, Black Leggings, Blue Bag, and Hunter Rain Boots <3

Polka dots and the pop of color drew me to this outfit.  Plus what rainy day wouldn't be better with a Starbucks in hand?!

I love Pinterest for outfit inspiration when I feel in a rut.  I am no fashionista by any means but I love finding new ways to mix and match the pieces in my wardrobe.  Feel free to follow along with me over on my Pinterest {my style} board.

DIY {sharpie t-shirt}

Go Broncos, go Broncos go!  We are big Peyton Manning fans...so we are super excited that the Broncos made it to the Super Bowl.  The hubs and I both have Broncos shirts and are ready for the big game but Little Bit needs one too, right?!  Sharpie art to the rescue!

I had bought this white shirt for another project but didn't end up using it.  So it was perfect for my Sharpie shirt!  I started by printing the Broncos logo the size I wanted.  Then I placed it in between the front and back panels of the shirt, centering it where I thought it looked good.

Then I started with my blue marker and began outlining the pattern.  I just took short strokes, holding the shirt in place as I went along.

Once you have your outlines, then the coloring in begins.  Little Bit even helped out on this step!

Here is the final product!  I am pretty excited with how it turned out and Little Bit is thrilled to have a new shirt!!! ;)  Now we are ALL ready for the big game.  Go Peyton and the Broncos!!!

Dr Seuss week....clothes!

Oh the thinks you can think and the things you can wear!  LOL!  I shared some of our activities from Dr. Seuss week here but also wanted to share my outfits from the week.

Monday...I only had 1 actual Dr Seuss shirt and I knew I was wearing it later in the week, so I decided to whip up a Cat in the Hat shirt super quick.  I found a hat template online and cut it out of white felt.  Then I cut the strips apart and cut every other one out of red felt.  I hot glued the red strips to the white.  Then I glued it all to a blue t-shirt that was in my Goodwill pile.  Then I took a black sharpie and outlined everything.

Tuesday...We did Tacky Tuesday, in honor of the book Wacky Wednesday.  Since I have a TTh class and a MWF class I had 2 dress up days.  So this is day 1 of the craziness for me!

Wednesday...Wacky Wednesday!  Another day of craziness!  I even taped shoes on the walls for the kids to find.  We had a rode on the side of a bookshelf to drive cars on and we colored under the table!  We also walked backwards on our way to recess.  The kids so loved dressing up and acting wacky and I did too!

Thursday...We did some fish activities so I thought it was appropriate to wear my 1 fish 2 fish shirt this day!  I found this at Wal-mart last summer.

Friday...My partner in crime, AKA the other 3 year old teacher, and I were Teacher 1 and Teacher 2!  I found the printables for these on Pinterest.  Then I just dressed in the colors of Thing 1 and 2.  This might have been my favorite outfit of the week!

Happy Birthday Dr Seuss...can't wait to celebrate you again next year!!!

Essie's Summer Collection...

Dive into gorgeous color with Essie's new 2012 summer collection.

Meijer graciously sent me my very own set of the summer collection to try and share my thoughts with you all.  And my thoughts are....I am still in love with Essie! ;)  The colors are always so appealing and I just love how great the coverage is.

They always come packaged up so cute!  It's like Christmas, unwrapping your most anticipated gift!

The colors in the summer line include...fear or desire, mojito madness, off the shoulder, all tied up, bikini so teeny and cascade cool!  What a great variety of shades to choose from. I am loving them all...especially the mojito madness!!!  Anytime is a great time to pick up a new nail color....so stop by your local Meijer and grab yourself a new yummy Essie color or two!  ;)

Watch for some upcoming posts of me sporting some of these new colors!!!

more {essie} love!

I recently received another great selection of Essie nail polishes to try out from Meijer.  I was surprised to get a cute little journal in the box as well!  I am a sucker for a good journal!

The colors in the spring collection are navigate her, tour de finance, to buy or not to buy, orange it's obvious!, a crewed interest and ole caliente.  Three of which are pastels and three bright.  They are all super cute and Little Bit and I couldn't wait to try them out!

These are the 2 she picked to start with.  We painted her nails with the pink and did orange polka dots.  {She is into design nails these days!}  I forgot to take a picture though...oops!

We did them a second time and she picked green for the base and then purple for a stripe down the center!  Too cute!  I painted my nails with the green too....but didn't get a very good pic.  The color is a little out of my normal comfort zone but I really liked it.

Then we decided to paint our toes to match using the tour de finance hot pink color.

We both love the Essie nail polish and all the fun colors!  Can't wait to try out another fun combination!  Thanks again to Meijer and Essie for the opportunity.

scarves {organized}

My scarves have been a mess for quite some time.  I have been using this hanging organizer that I picked up at Target a while back.  I think it is designed to hold belts....which I did have on the back side.  So all of my scarves were on one side, piled and piled on top of each other, constantly falling on the floor.  I decided it was time to revamp them.  I really liked the hanger organizer, so I took off all the belts {which I hardly wear anyways}, rolled up the three I kept and put them in a drawer.  Then I weeded out my scarves.  I got rid of about 5 I think.
So one side of the hanger holds more springy scarves...

While the other side has the more fall/wintery ones!  So much better!!!

How do you organize your scarves?  I have seen some people use a towel bar mounted in their closet and that seemed like a neat idea....maybe in the new house!!!

hair raising {goodys}...

GIVEAWAY EXTENDED THROUGH MONDAY!!!
Look at all these {goodys} I received in the mail courtesy of Meijer and Goody! I was amazed at how much stuff was in this box! I just kept uncovering more and more goodness! ;)

Look at all of this!!! I can't wait to try out some new hairstyles with these items.

Out of everything in the box, these were what I was most excited about for me! Who doesn't love a great brush....this one has a nice cushy handle and says it is supposed to help alleviate static. I definitely need this for Little Bit!

I love headbands but they usually hurt my head....well the no slip elastic ones from Goody work great! They stay in place and don't have to worry about the headaches!

I also can't have enough elastic hair bands. These neutrals with the pink thrown in are great staples. But I was excited to try the double wear elastic bands. They have a band of metal on them...so they look cute on your wrist, but also work great to pull back your hair. I love having the jazzed up hair band on my arm, I almost forget its not a bracelet! I have used these almost everyday since receiving them!

These items I was most excited about for Little Bit. Now that is it spring, the weather is warmer and we have lots of wind....so we put out hair back most days. Little Bit loves pig tails and these smaller elastic bands work great for her. I love the variety of color too! Think we have used all most every color so far.

The flower clips are super cute too. The clips aren't quite big enough to keep much of Little Bit's hair back {that girl has some thick hair!}...but they work great as an accent when she has a pony or pig tails in!

NOW...how would you like to have some {goodys} of your own?!!!!! I have an assortment of headbands up for grabs along with a package of basic black ouchless elastic bands.

Just leave me a comment letting me know what your favorite hair accessory is! If you want an additional entry, start following my blog and leave me a comment saying that you are. If you are already a follower, leave me a comment saying that...and thanks! ;) I will draw a winner on Thursday, April 5th!...EXTENDED THROUGH MONDAY!!!

Thanks again to Meijer and Goody for this opportunity to try out some new products.

some {sparkly} essie!

Once again Essie is at it again with their new luxeffects line. Meijer sent me a package with the 5 new multi-dimensional top coats to try.

Here is a look at the shiny goodness...as gold as it gets, a cut above, set in stones, pure pearlfection, and shine of the times.

I decided to test them all out and see what I thought. My favorite is shine of the times. Little Bit loves a cut above...she is always wanting sparkles when I paint her nails! These sparkly top coats are great on their own or over your favorite Essie color!

Thanks to Meijer and Essie for this opportunity!

wintery nails...

You might remember that several months ago I posted a review of Essie nail colors fall line. Well Meijer has sent me another package with the Winter Palette for Essie!

The colors always have such fun names like...bobbing for baubles, bangle jangle, cocktail bling....

I love the opportunity to try out the new colors because it allows me to get out of my color comfort zone. When I am shopping for new polish I normally pick colors in the red, pink and brown family. Little Bit loves the polish too! She is wanting her nails done more & more, and again I feel there are appropriate colors for kiddos as well in this collection. She was drawn to the light purple and red!

The first color I decided to try was this dark blue color called "bobbing for baubles". I just love it! As I said in my previous review, I just love how nice and smooth the polish goes on my nails!

Thanks to Meijer and Essie for this opportunity!

fall and {fashion}...

So Sunday afternoon we went out in the backyard to enjoy the beautiful day. We raked up a big pile of leaves and had fun running, jumping, falling in them and just plain being silly! I grabbed the camera and snapped a few pics, then the hubs took it and captured a bunch more.

I love the outfit I was wearing and so he took a few pics of me. I have been an avid follower of Lindsey's What I Wore Wednesday feature on her blog The Pleated Poppy. She started it as a challenge to herself to get dressed and out of her pj's each day. Taking a picture to document was her accountability. Lots of wonderful ladies link up with her each week. I love browsing through every Wednesday to get some fashion inspiration for my own wardrobe! So I thought I would finally link up at least once...with a few cute Little Bit pictures thrown in!

I saw this red leaf just laying there among the brown ones and thought it deserved to be photographed! Also got my cute mustard flats in the shot {from Target}!

Here is our big pile of leaves. Little Bit would throw a bunch of leaves in the air and yell "FALL"!

Throwing her in the pile! ;)

Running to jump in the pile!

And here's the whole outfit...mustard cardigan {Kmart}, ruffly top and mustard flats {Target}, jeans and belt {thrifted}, bangle bracelets {Forever 21}
