4th of july crafts...

What better way to get ready for the 4th of July weekend then with a few crafts to decorate the house!

Here is a flag we made. I tore strips of red construction paper and Little Bit glued them to a piece of white paper. Then she glued on a blue piece and put some star stickers on. She only wanted 4 stars {cause that's how old she will be soon....hehe!}

We hung this on the fridge using letter magnets U, S and A!

Next we made a firecracker out of a toilet paper tube. She covered it with red construction paper. We added some blue in the middle and a few stars to sparkle it up!

Then we took yellow pipe cleaners and twisted the tops around a pencil so they would be curly. We just placed these in the center of the tube to make flames.

This found a spot right on the kitchen island.

Next we made beaded bracelets. I cut some red and white twine, taped one end down and Little Bit started beading. She created a pattern that she said I had to copy too....our bracelets had to be the same! ;)
Tada!

What fun crafts have you been making lately?

1 tsp cinnamon
whipped cream

Directions:
Mix first 3 ingredients together. Then fold in some whipped cream until you get the consistency and taste you like!

ready to {smash}

I first saw these Smash books on TwoPeas and knew I wanted to get my hands on one! I am usually such a traditional 8.5x11 or 12x12 scrapbooker, but every now and then I enjoy doing something that is out of my box. ;) So while we were at the Mall of America, we stopped in Archiver's and my mom, sis and I all picked one up! Here is a fun Smash video if you'd like to learn more about them.

Here is the style I chose....Mod Black. There are several different styles and colors to choose from. All 3 of us got different ones! We are going to use them to scrap our Mall trip!

These are a few other things I have picked up to use in my book...

Artisan tape....I have seen decorative tapes all over and I found these at Archivers in the $1.99 section. They are a great way to attach memorablia to a page or just add some decorative detail.

Today I picked up these 2 items at Tuesday Mornings. The tan box was on clearance for $1.00. It is filled with buttons, paper flowers and travel diecuts! The stickers were $1.00 each and they are travel themed as well.

Us girls are getting together Friday to {SMASH}...can't wait!!!
