braided headband...

The DH and I both have much younger sisters....like 18 years younger! The hubs and I are 3 years apart and when we were each 18 our moms had babies! They were both the same age when they got pregnant too....how weird is that?! We got married when the girls were 5 and 2 and moved 3 hours away. Even though we weren't around much when the were little we have special connections with our younger sisters! Each summer we have them come to our house and stay with stay with us for a week. In between all the activities we do, some crafty time usually gets squeezed in!

When my sister-in-law was here 2 weeks ago we decided to make these braided headbands...
The tutorial was so easy to follow. We whipped these up in no time...just using supplies I had on hand {fabric, elastic hair bands and hot glue!}. The tutorial showed you could add a fabric flower as well but we decided to leave the flowers off of ours.

Here is Becca modeling her creation!

easy cheesy bread!

With the holiday weekend I can imagine alot of you had cookouts.....so you might have some leftover buns lying around. Even when we don't have cookouts, being a family of 3 we just don't go through an 8 pack of buns fast enough. So....easy cheesy bread to the rescue!

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Open buns and separate top from bottom. Place them on baking sheet open side up. Spray {or spread} butter on buns. Next top with shredded cheese of choice. Then sprinkle on some garlic salt and parsley flakes. Bake for about 5 minutes and enjoy!

happy 4th!

Yesterday after church I decided to try and get a family photo since we all coordinated in our blue outfits! As I was setting up the tripod Little Bit thought she would strike a pose for me....

Such a cutie!

Of course a family photo wouldn't be complete without all 4 members of our family...hehe! Little Bit had to have Eva in the picture with us.

Now just the 3 of us!

Hope you all have a wonderful holiday and get to spend some quality time with your family!
