{on my nails}

I picked this nail polish up for free at Wal-mart last weekend.  It was only .93 and I had a coupon for $1.00 off a wet 'n wild product.  I would have never guessed it would have lasted as long as it did on my nails.

This is day 3 and I have minimal tip damage...

I have a hard time keeping polish on my nails.  The last few times I have painted them I've used a base coat.  I think I was just too lazy to add this step before but this really helps extend the life of a manicure!

Here is what I used...

Cutex Basework, wet 'n wild Wild Shine nail color in red, Sally Hansen Diamond Shine top coat

I think I ended up getting 5 days wear before it was chipping and I had to remove it!

{what i wore} rain boots

To say we have had a little snow and cold weather would not quite be an accurate account of these past 2 months.  Well this week the temps are rising and things are melting...which means it's a mess out there.  So what better way to stomp about than in my cute plaid rain boots!

It's supposed to rain on top of all the melting...so guess what I'll be wearing yet again this week!  I've been strolling through Pinterest for some cute outfit inspiration and this is what's jumping out at me...
Complete Fall Outfit but would swap my brown riding boots for her rubber ones. "Rain Boots Contest" by kginger on Polyvore. So cute but prob would replace boots with pumps or flats in same color

I think I might be liking stripes a bit!  Both look stylish but still very comfy.

Outfits with Riding Boots | ... comfy day outfit - probably riding boots instead of rain boots for me

Another super comfy look...leggings, long & flowy shirt with a fun colorful scarf!

Cute Winter Outfit- Polka Dot Blouse, Pink Puffer Down Jacket, Black Leggings, Blue Bag, and Hunter Rain Boots <3

Polka dots and the pop of color drew me to this outfit.  Plus what rainy day wouldn't be better with a Starbucks in hand?!

I love Pinterest for outfit inspiration when I feel in a rut.  I am no fashionista by any means but I love finding new ways to mix and match the pieces in my wardrobe.  Feel free to follow along with me over on my Pinterest {my style} board.

fun {kids} snack...

Little Bit always wants a bedtime snack.  She is not the best at eating fruits and veggies throughout the day so we try to incorporate fruit into her nightly snack.  She loves chocolate and sprinkles...so what better way to eat a banana...

Looks good...I might have to eat one like this sometime!  ;)

hello 2014 album...

Hello 2014 project life album!  I love project life style scrapbooking, drop photos in, drop in accent cards, journal and add a few embellishments.  Sounds easy enough right?!  My problem is I start off good but then fall behind.  I love the idea of capturing every day life as opposed to only scrapbooking the big life moments, birthdays, holidays, milestones, etc.  But I have come to realize that I don't like to be boxed into weekly scrapbooking either.  I do scrapbook a week at a time occasionally, but some weeks I hardly have any pictures and other times I have a gazillion!  ;)  So I've decided to not limit myself and just see where the layouts go.

I did not do a very good job of staying on top of my 2013 album.  I would fall months behind and then play catch up.  I did have a couple scrapbook marathon weekends in January and got my album finished.

Here is my title page for 2014.  Loving 5th & Frolic by Dear Lizzy! It is a Michaels exclusive core kit.  Did you know that you can use competitor coupons at Michaels?!  I used a Joanns 50% coupon and scored this kit for only $15!

For 2014 my goal is to print pics at the end of each month and get them scrapbooked before I print the next months pictures.  We will see how that goes....so far so good!

my little artist...

Last month Little Bit went to an arty party for her bestie's birthday.  This was such a fun experience!  I wanted to be a kid again and join in on the fun!

Here is Little Bit with the birthday girl.  Behind them is a fun chalk wall that the kids could draw on throughout the party.

Each child at the party got to paint a frame {which was later filled with a group picture} and a canvas.  I wasn't sure what Little Bit would fill the canvas up with but I just let her have at it.  I was SO impressed with her creativity.  They started out with black, white, yellow, red and blue paint.  She loved mixing colors to make new ones for her artwork.

Here is her finished product!

She loved the process so much that we stopped on the way home to get a couple canvases so she could create more masterpieces!

She got to work right away on a butterfly and flower.  This was such a fun experience for her.  I enjoyed watching her excitement throughout the process!

They turned out BEAUTIFULLY!...

So we made an art collage on some blank wall space in her room.  LOVE!!!

DIY {sharpie t-shirt}

Go Broncos, go Broncos go!  We are big Peyton Manning fans...so we are super excited that the Broncos made it to the Super Bowl.  The hubs and I both have Broncos shirts and are ready for the big game but Little Bit needs one too, right?!  Sharpie art to the rescue!

I had bought this white shirt for another project but didn't end up using it.  So it was perfect for my Sharpie shirt!  I started by printing the Broncos logo the size I wanted.  Then I placed it in between the front and back panels of the shirt, centering it where I thought it looked good.

Then I started with my blue marker and began outlining the pattern.  I just took short strokes, holding the shirt in place as I went along.

Once you have your outlines, then the coloring in begins.  Little Bit even helped out on this step!

Here is the final product!  I am pretty excited with how it turned out and Little Bit is thrilled to have a new shirt!!! ;)  Now we are ALL ready for the big game.  Go Peyton and the Broncos!!!
